Grabbed smartphone and started quick internet search for someone in the area, and came across this shop. A short drive later they fit me in for a "look-see" to find out if car was safe to drive. After a little time, reported it was but need some follow up work. Plan to go back as soon as I can schedule the down time. Friendly place, honest family business..something hard to find in our corporate world."

"I only spoke to Mike, and he didn't seem very enthusiastic. I called a couple times and I always felt like I was an inconvenience. I have a 1999 toyota Solara and my piston unfortunately blew in my engine. They told me at first it would cost 2500,then they told me 3000. (and that's for a USED motor with LESS than 100 thousand miles) I told them I could pay that if they HELD my car to give me time to save money. They told me Id have to put 1500-2000 down and then have the rest in a couple weeks. I then asked them if it was possible to find an engine with MORE than 100 thousand miles, so it wouldn't be so expensive. They told me they cant "do that" (aka they wanted to get the most money out of me) Whenever I was upset he always seemed to point the finger at the owner..whom I never got a chance to speak with. He even advised me to come get my car and take me vehicle someplace else. All because they wouldn't hold it for me, so i could save money to pay them. They do not have the customers best interest at heart. If you have a major car issue, I would go someplace else."

"I wished I had found Tim and Florida Transmission Repair the first time I had my transmission rebuilt. It would have saved me $1900! When the transmission failed in my 2005 Honda, a friend referred me to a shop that had a long history in Orlando. I got the friends/family discount which I thought would save me about a $1000. Unfortunately, the transmission failed again two months later. The previous shop gave me a year warrantee so I took it back to be fixed. Three weeks later I received a call from the shop's landlord that the shop was out of business and I needed to come have my car towed elsewhere. I just wasted $1900 plus towing costs and a lot of time. Luckily, I found Florida Transmission Repair and learned a lot about my mistake. First, good transmission shops all offer an industry warrantee, so if the shop that did the repair cannot honor the warrantee, then another shop will. Second, modern transmissions like the one in my Honda are very complicated and have tight tolerances. Make sure the shop you choose is experienced and has a history of success in your type of transmission. Tim and his Dad run a great shop. They always kept me informed on the status of the repair and I am happy to say that my car runs like new. I liked the service so much that I had Tim install a transmission cooler in my truck so I could tow my boat long distance without worry. I highly recommend them for any automotive repairs you need and I often recommend them to my friends and family."
